My favorite little Lakeside shop

For those of you who venture out for a little city thrifting, you must check out Keep Good Company, located on Lakeside Ave. A great little place to find gifts and she even gift wraps too:) BONUS!

Recently Brad and I stopped in to see what we could find and we saw these:
Can you guess what these are? That's right, some old school flash cards. But we decided to be thrifty and came up with a better use for these. Yes, this was Brad's crafty idea, but I put them together!
GENous! A great way to display a date that is close to the heart.

And here it is displayed in our home! I love it:)

A new bedside table

I was in desperate need of a bedside table for my side of the bed, so I went shopping at a new thrift store....For the Love of Jesus Thrift.

I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by how large the store was. Yes-you have to dig, but I there were quite a few treasures.

I found this cute little table. I wasn't willing to pay the asking price of $45, so I began the bargaining process by asking the manager if he would take $30. To my surprise he said Yes! So I stuffed this in my trunk and away we went.

When I finally got some time to spend on it.....I began sanding......

I still need to paint it red, but here is my inspiration for my little table. Perfect for my book and cell phone next to my bed:)
I think it will look really cute with my new duvet.... What do you think?

Its Almost Fall Yall!

I have been dying to make one of these cute wreaths that keep popping up on Pinterest for the fall.

What better day for it file than a boring Sunday when the hubby is busy watching football. I decided to make a quick trip to Michael's to pick up my supplies. Here is what you will need:
Grapevine Wreath $2.50
4 Sheets of Felt $.20 each
Glue gun
Scissors

Here is a link to making the felt flowers:  http://www.purlbee.com/felt-flower-winter-wreath/

TADA!

Why do curtains have to be so expensive?

Or why can't I sew?

Seriously, curtains are way over priced. That is all I have to say about being on the hunt for curtains. Add 8 windows and BAAM you get the point....Chaching$$$

I'm glad to say I found these beauties at Pier One on sale-perfect for the formal dining room and half the price of Pottery Barn's-SCORE!

(CAUTION-YOU MIGHT NEED TO CLOSE YOUR EYES-THE CAMERA MADE THESE MUCH SHINIER THAN THEY REALLY ARE)

Decor Lingo: To Puddle-to allow a few inches for drapes to "puddle" on the floor.
